Dave Nussbaum is the Director of Communications at the Behavioral Science & Policy Association. He is responsible for developing our blog and outreach strategy to the wider community.

Dave is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Behavioral Science at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He received his PhD in Social Psychology from Stanford University in 2008.

Dave is particularly interested in research on how people’s sense of self and identity affects how they understand and interact with the world around them. In terms of policy, this often translates into tying behaviors such as environmentalism, voting, saving, and eating to core parts of people’s identity as a means of making otherwise mundane behavior identity-relevant, and therefore a top priority.
