The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation (CMEI) Science, Technology, and Policy Program (STP) Fellowship provides the opportunity to come to Washington, D.C. to learn about the federal government and its role in enabling a resilient, integrated, and affordable energy future. Fellows with the CMEI Integrated Energy Systems Office (IESO) will develop leadership skills in science and technology by designing and implementing national research and development strategies and programs in the following areas:
- Advanced solar photovoltaic technologies
- Wind energy technologies
- Solar heat for industrial processes
- Thermal energy systems
- Grid integration technologies
- Distributed energy technologies
- Interconnection innovation
- Permitting and environmental impact reduction
- Cross-cutting analysis and program impact evaluation
- Energy materials and recycling
- Manufacturing and technology transfer
The application deadline for this opportunity is July 31, 2026. The opportunity is available to applicants with bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degrees of all backgrounds, as well as applicants with relevant post-degree experience. Learn more and apply.
